Position: Aerial Instructor (Saturdays)
Schedule: Saturdays 11AM-2PM
Are you passionate about aerial dance and skilled in teaching others the art of silks? UpSwing Aerial Dance Company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Silks Instructor to join our team and lead Level 1 and Level 2 classes on Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
Instruct Level 1 and Level 2 Silks Classes:
Develop and implement lesson plans for both beginner and intermediate silks students.
Provide clear and concise instructions on technique, form, and safety.
Create a Positive Learning Environment:
Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for students of all skill levels and ages.
Encourage creativity and self-expression within the context of silks instruction.
Ensure Safety and Well-being:
Prioritize and enforce safety protocols during classes.
Report any safety concerns (equipment, student behavior, etc) immediately to the appropriate company members.
Stay updated on industry safety standards and communicate them effectively.
Provide Individualized Feedback:
Offer constructive feedback to students to help them improve and progress.
Be attentive to individual needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience instructing silks classes at various skill levels.
Demonstrated proficiency in aerial silks technique and safety.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Certification in aerial arts instruction is a plus.
Dance and Choreography experience is a plus.
